Application
The tricone bit produced by our company conforms to international drilling contractor association-IADC code
According to pratical experiences of home and abroad
We will recommend the weight on bit, rotary speed requirement, and air requirements to customers
The weight on bit
According to pratical experiences of home and abroad,The selection of drilling pressure should consider the physical and
mechanical properties of rock and the drillability of rock, the bearing capacity of bit and the technical performance of drill
rig.
Rotary Speed Requirement
Experience has shown that under such circumstances that the cuttings can be well removed from the hole, the RPM possesses of a proximate linear relationship with penetration rate within a certain range. As the RPM is increased, the penetration rate will increase with relation to formation characteristics.
Air Requirements
Compressed air is widely used for blowing cuttings in rotary blast hold drilling rig. It serves two important functions; One is
to clean and remove cuttings from the hole bottom with sufficient air volume, and the other is to cool and flush the bearing
surfaces of bit for increasing rotary speed and obtaining longer bit life.
Guidance of Tricone Bit Choice
IADC | WOB(KN/mm) | RPM(r/min) | APPLICABLE FORMATIONS |
114/116/117 | 0.3~0.75 | 180~60 | Very soft formations with low compressive strength and high drillability, such as clay, mudstone, chalk, etc. |
124/126/127 | 0.3~0.85 | 180~60 | Soft formations with low compressive strength and high drillability, such as mudstone, gypsum, salt, soft limestone, etc. |
134/135/136/137 | 0.3~0.95 | 150~60 | Soft to medium formations with low compressive strength and high drillability, such as medium soft shale, hard gypsum, medium soft limestone, medium soft sandstone, soft formation with harder interbed, etc. |
214/215/216/217 | 0.35~0.95 | 150~60 | Medium formations with high compress strength, such as medium soft shale, hard gypsum , medium soft limestone, medium soft sandstone, soft formation with harder interbed, etc. |
227 | 0.35~0.95 | 150~50 | Medium hard formations with high compressive strength, such as abrasive shale, limestone, sandstone, dolomite, hard gypsum, marble, etc |
Note: The upper limits of WOB and RPM in above table should not be used simultaneously. |
